Addeline Griswold, known online as Burger Babie, makes what she calls childlike art for adults. Folky, funny, and genuinely strange in the best way. A self-taught artist working out of her Los Angeles studio, a room so dense with collected objects, vintage toys, and her own paintings that it functions almost as a self-portrait on its own. We spent a day there together shooting on medium format film, moving between the studio and the afternoon light outside. What came through in every frame was the same thing that comes through in her work: total commitment to the world she has built around herself.
